Capcom's Japanese Q&A blog has some information that Street Fighter IV fans will be pleased/annoyed to hear. It seems that Capcom is currently working on either new SFIV DLC or they are in the planning stages of a sequel.
As the Official Xbox Magazine reports, Capcom is currently considering adding a few new characters to the mix, including Gouken's daughter, who "probably is as strong as Ryu, Ken or Akuma," as well as SF: Alpha regular Rolento. The post also mentions special intros (Gouken vs. Ryu, etc.) and the prospect of a free moving camera during replays.
And while it seems fairly obvious that a sequel is in the works, these additions don't seem nearly substantial enough to suggest they won't be included in some DLC/update somewhere down the line, as opposed to being the jumping off points for a sequel.
What would you like to see included in the next possible SFIV update/DLC/sequel?

Makoto for sure, Yun & Yang, Elena, Adon, Birdie, & Charlie.
I know we already have Balrog but I have always prefered Dudley. I agree also about the stages and music being different for each character I hate the sharing stages thing. Also don't charge us for stuff like alternate outfits that's just greedy.

Downloadable/purchase characters from past games would be nice.
R. Mika, Birdie and some of the older "boss" type characters would be a welcome addition too.
I like the idea of a party mode like JTHMROCKS suggested. A few new stages would be nice too. I can only watch the volcano erupt so many times at the end of the fight.

Considering what the did with Street Fighter 2, 3, and the alpha series this isn't new but with most systems being online they should release it as DLC in my opinion.

I read about tihs a month ago at Capcom unity blog. Definitely I would like to see Gouken Daughter, Adon, Rolento, Dee Jay and T. Hawk.
But What I really want for an update is a character blind selection when playing online, Just like SFIIHD. Ppl wait for me to choose first but no matter, I woop on them online. Also, Add custom music when playing online.

Oh yes. I want every character to have his/her seperate stage with their old music back. Not these shared/random stages they have now. That really bugged me about 4... =/

Yes! I really wanted to play as Rolento on SFIV as well as Evil Ryu, DeeJay, T-Hawk, and Charlie would make a great addition and an equal to Guile.
Its about time the costumes were fun but I need a little more I thought that's what Capcom claimed they would do in the first place. New stages, and playable characters would be in the DLC's
