Like many of you, I’m super excited about LucasArts’ upcoming The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition. The original is a classic, and having the chance to see such an iconic game in all its HD (hand-drawn) glory on my Xbox 360 quite simply rocks.
And yet, for as thrilled as I am that this title is on the way, I can’t help but thinking about the other classic LucasArts games (Curse of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle) that I’m currently unable to enjoy on a daily basis. Fortunately, there’s a very simple way for fans to ensure that these titles resurface: buy Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition!
At least, that’s the advice passed along by LucasArts Community Manager Brooks Brown. Brown told Australia’s WAToday.com, "If [Monkey Island: SE] sells, there's no one at this company who doesn't want to do these games...It's a matter of showing that there's interest and this market is alive.”
Ok. So Brown makes it sound a bit like LucasArts is using Monkey Island: SE to blackmail gamers (“Buy this game or you’ll never see your precious point-and-click adventures again!), but if ever there was a blackmail scheme that I supported 100 percent, this would have to be it.
How many of you are planning on buying the Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and/or the new addition to the series Tales of Monkey Island? Which classic LucasArts game would you most like to see updated next?

Yes yes yes, Day of the Tentacle and Tie Fighter were some of my faves, X-wing and Full Throttle were up there too but I spent countless hours blasting Rebel scum in Tie Fighter...

Full Throttle, Tie Fighter, Manic Mansion, hell I love them all. put them up and I will buy them.

I don't care what system it is on, I will get it, even if it requires a system that doesn't even exsist yet, it will be mine, oh yes, it will be. (already preordered the Tell Tale game, encourage everyone to do so)

Every single one of those games was awesome. Put them up and I'll download them!

I agree with caliminius. Why is this not on PS3? I want to support the cause too. I even have secret fantasies where Lucas Arts re-releases all their adventure games, and Sierra follows suit. QFG FTW!

So where can I drop Brooks Brown a message and tell him I'd love to buy "Secret of Monkey Island" as soon as it arrives on the PS3? I'm no fanboy and intend to pick up a 360 "someday" but this game isn't enough to push that date forward any. Heck, I'd settle for a WiiWare release even though I don't own one yet. The "someday" purchase for that is much closer than the 360.

I'd like to see Sam and Max: Hit the Road redone, but only if Telltale works with them on it as well.
