Well, it's official. Microsoft will be releasing an all new Xbox next year, and it will incorporate a "natural interface" and a built-in camera that tracks motion and voice. In other words, that Project Natal-integrated Xbox 360 rumor that popped up on Monday (and was then refuted and revised on Tuesday) ended up being true after all. I know. I'm a little scared too.
As TGDaily reports, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer made the announcement at the Executives Club of Chicago today. Sadly, Ballmer did not elaborate on the new Xbox (is it just a special edition Elite console with a camera strapped to it?), but the news is still quite appreciated.

They should have mentioned this before, so that way i wouldn't have gone out and buy a regular 360. i would have waited for the release of the new xbox in 2010.

i like how M$oft keeps making new xbox 360s cuz most of all the original models all RRODed and were pieces of crap. instead of them rushing the 360 to get it out b4 the ps3, why didnt they take their time to make a more stable system, and save theirselves some money

I have no intentions to purchase this "new" xbox. As many have said, there is a recession going on, but more importantly I haven't seen anything that tells me that playing FPS games with Natal will be any better. I mean for instance with Gears, how can snipers zoom in with Natal. Call of Duty...same thing really when it comes to some weps. Realizing that all I really have for the 360 FPS other than Fable II, I don't see Natal as a fun factor when it comes to these types of games. Infact I see them as a hindrance to them. So no Natal for me regardless.

I think its another Xbox 360 version not another Xbox per say.Think of it this way.Many Xbox 360 exclusives are coming next year so if it was another Xbox why wouldnt they put it on that Xbox?Anyway thats just my guess.Besisdes Natal will be released as an attachment for current Xbox 360s.They said this at E3.

oh goodie! i wonder what the new model will look like. and for those who may have just purchased xboxes. i wouldnt worry. i dont think its a new console. probably more like a different model with upgrades and attachments. who knows, we'll see.

Wow this is pathetic, where are all those PS3 haters now saying it cost too much and its not worth the money? Lets see, do I want to waste $300 every 4 years on an inferior system, or get the system with the latest technology for $400 that will last me at least ten years??? And for those who are thinking it's just a simple bundle, enngh wrong! Microsft is planning on cashing in on Natal by making it a stand alone system, so the only way to enjoy it is to buy this new console (meaning their console sales will pratically double). All that talk about Sony trying to milk their customers for every dime (hint: PSPGo) and Microsoft is using the same tactics. B4 I upset any people out there just remember, Im not bashing XBox 4 no reason, I was just able to realize the smarter investment early.
