Sparked by news that Xbox exec. John Schappert is moving on from Microsoft to mosey back towards Electronic Arts, I combed through my E3 intervew with Schappert, in search of information I might have left out. During our chat, I asked Schappert about the status of Peter Jackson's still-mysterious Halo project and the future of Too Human.
Sadly, there's not much to say about either. Take it away, Schappert.
"[Halo] Reach is not the Peter Jackson collaboration," he said, cautiously looking towards his public relations handler, when I asked if the project's still alive. "I don't think we have much to talk about with that one, do we?"
If Halo 3: ODST is this year's big Halo release and Halo: Reach is 2010's big Halo release, it's not much of a surprise that Peter Jackson's thing, whatever it is, remains under wraps. One relationship we haven't heard much about, though, is between Silicon Knights, Microsoft and the future of the proposed Too Human trilogy. Is it alive?
"We don't have anything to announce with respect to Silicon Knights or Too Human right now," said Schappert.
Well, thanks anyway, John.

f--- ya! Halo rules!

I've seen far worse games than this (in both quality and sales) get plenty of sequels *coughKoeicough* so there's no reason why Too Human shouldn't have its epic trilogy played out for those who want it. And if they can fix some of the problems with the first one (and Dyack can keep his big mouth shut), then maybe people won't complain about it so much and the sequels will do better!

Despite my opinion of Too Human (which is a really negative one), the fact remains that the actual game did not sell well (or review well for that matter) enough to warrant a sequel, let alone a trilogy.
That is the problem with "thinking too big" from the get-go. When designers make a game, they should really only focus on one game and one story, not a whole series, because not only does it cause delusions of grandeur, but also everything will be riding on that first game.

I thought they cancelled the Peter Jackson thing a while ago.
I got Too Human for free a little over a week ago, its not bad. Has some faults but the potential's there for a great series.

I really hope they finish the Too Human trilogy. I've been playing it nonstop lately, and I'm loving every minute of it! And there's no way they can just leaving us fans hanging with that cliffhanger of an ending! If there was ever an underappreciated game that was deserving of its sequels, this is it.

Don't get me wrong I'm excited for Too Human....2, but considering how long it took for the first game to come out, I'm not expecting a release date soon.

g4ismediocre@ Too human was worth it for me i liked making my own armor. Wish there was more crafting in the game.

Too Human did okay...and I really think M$ isn't in a position to pass on exclusives with the amount that the PS3 has in the pike!
g4ismediocre
I guess he feels disappointed that Too Human wasn't a great 360 exclusive. Abandonig the sinking ship and moving along I guess.

Too Human and shadowrun have got more hours from me than most my 30 something games.

I hadn't seen anyone ask Microsoft about either project, so I thought I'd pass on whatever information I did have, even if there was nothing new to report.

"What's the point of posting this if it gives us nothing new?"
Slow news day?
I do hope they make the other two Too Human games. I had a lot of fun with the first and it'd be interesting to see how they build upon it.
