Adam, you really missed the ball on this one. And whats this garbage about giving Valve the benefit of a doubt after that awful port to the PS3 with no updates, get your facts correct.

It has everything to do with what they promised with L4D in the first place. They promised we would get updates on a regular basis similar to TF2.

So when you buy the game with those intentions, and then they don't happen, you get pissed off.

So there, its explained to you, now tell your script writer for your webisode to get his facts straight.

I was surprised by the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2 because you don't usually get a sequel to a phenomenal game within a year. I'll admit I was a little put off by the announcement because we are living in the DLC era and what I saw in the trailer at E3 didn’t look all that different from the original Left 4 Dead. I think that is what a lot of people are zeroing in on, what they saw was: new maps, new character skins, and new weapons. All of which are things that consumers think could be released as DLC. Where the problem lies here is that people are broke, we don’t have the money to keep buying sixty dollar games. I think Valve is really going to have to win some hearts and minds leading up to release with some awesome trailers that really show off why L4D2 is worth paying sixty bucks for or else everyone will just stick with the original. Don’t get me wrong, I love everything Valve does, so I really hope that they can show off their game because I want to support them.

So many people complain about L4D2, saying that they just bought the game. But God people let it actually come out first. It could be... no it will be much better than the first. If you don't want to pay for it, THEN DON'T BUY IT!

I do not understand while people think that what valve is doing is wrong. When they release its guaranteed to be good and they have an amazing track record when it comes to fan service. But because they decide to make another game but still continue to offer support for the original game they are screwing people over. Maybe instead of complaining about the 4 maps you shelled 60 dollars out for you should have either waited to buy the game have a little doubt about even the glorius valve. and when you look at the economy right now it makes since why they are not giving free dlc. so either do or dont buy the game.

OK I think people feel cheated because there wasn't a real big support for this game seeing that it's an multiplayer game. I look at games such as Unreal Tournament 1,2,3 , Quake 1,2,3,4 , Half-Life 1,2 and I find hundreds of maps. They released L4D in November, the first DLC in late April and the open beta test for the Source Development Kit in May for people to start making maps. That's not to much support from Valve. If they released the development kit earlier like other titles there would have been allot of maps by now and people wouldn't have bitched about it. I mean come on, look at games like Far Cry 2 that came with a map editor and the SDK for Fallout 3 came after a month from the release. No Valve should be really ashamed of themselves because they didn't even give the tools nor more maps for an online game and that's maybe because they started on Left 4 Dead 2 and not even no H-L 2 Episode 3.

thank you adam. your like tottally right
like no joke if people are bitching about that they could be bitching about cod and halo cause if i'm not mistaken werent there 5 making 6 cod's and 3 halos with one new one and one comeing out your totally right and people should stop bitching like no joke
BUT.......... even thou i agree with you it would be sorta nice if vavlue made it for the ps3. i mean i'm a ps3 owner and its just i can't afford the xbox right now but thats not the point i think all the company's should just make if fair for everyone and sell all the games to all the platforms
    but thats my only complaint.
And besides my friends have xbox so its all good =p

Valve fans were "told" about a promise for constant updates. Sorry folks, this isn't Team Fortress 2, it's L4D. The new overhaul to the style, weather conditions, director, story, gameplay, new modes, weapons; Oh my gosh, I mean if I were anyone else, I would swear that sounds kind of like a "sequel." Hrmm...kinda makes ya think...

With the addition of melee weapons (hopefully new firearms ect.) and new levels I don't necessarily see much to complain about either. The only thing I don't like is that they didn't keep working on in and put in more content, but I think that about a lot of video games (though this is an exception as it is scheduled to be released unusually early relative to it's predecessor). Regardless, people shouldn't make decisions like that unless they really know what they're getting. If it was a few more map packs bundled into a game then they could justify their arguments.
