GameStop appears to be selling Wii Motion Plus for $24.99 when its MSRP is $19.99. Is this a computer error or conscious attempt to gouge Wii owners on the new peripheral?
Luckily, GameStop is correctly pricing the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 Wii Motion Plus bundle at $59.99, which is, of course, the only way to buy Wii Motion Plus.
If you got hit for $25 buying Motion Plus at a GameStop, I suggest you head in and get your $5 back. You'll probably end up putting it down for a game reservation that comes with an exclusive in-game power-up that doesn't even activate correctly...
A quick call to my local GameStop confirmed that this isn't an online-only error. The company is actually over-charging for the peripheral. Lame.

Everyone that has already bought a Wii has overpaid by at least $100, so why r u complaining about GS charging a few dollars more.?
Letters2Kay
When I worked for GS, we came in one morning and had to mark up ALL of our new games $5. Apparently we were a "test store" for some new price gouging scheme they wanted to run. It was beyond lame. We aggressively price-matched, though- as I'm sure GS still does, so merely mentioning that it's cheaper elsewhere should bring the price down.
I preordered Motion Plus on Amazon and paid less than $20 with free shipping (Wii Sports Resort to follow with our second MP). I really only reserve and buy new titles that I can't wait to play at GameStop, everything else comes through Amazon along with all my Blu-Rays and DVDs- so that would include anything I buy for Wii. I save a ton through Amazon, all I have to do is wait a bit for my order. I love it.

@thekitsuneangel I think that the fact that they are letting their employyes bring home games play them bring them back and sell them as new as well as taking new release tradeins and selling them off at New price is criminal, I did not know this before and surely now I will never buy a game from there again.
You shouldn't be forced to pay full price for something that isn't fresh out of the package. They probably only sell things that way so that they can give their employees the short end of the stick pay wise by telling them you can play games for free if you work here, while at the same time giving the consumers the run around on paying the same price they would pay to get a new game for a used one. Your dollar shouldn't be worth less at any store.

Do people on here not know what MSRP means? Manufactor's Suggested Retail Price.
Do you think that Gamestop bought this peripherial for $20 to sell to you for a break even price? NO. The probably bought it for less than half that price and are selling it to you beyond what the people making it would have liked it to be sold for. I don't care if they do this because I can buy those little things anywhere that sells video game related materials, but don't act like Gamestop would be losing money by selling them to you at MSRP.
If you don't like Gamestop, don't shop there. It is as simple as that.

I heard about the $5 extra that's being charged for it and started digging around. When I ended up here I was absolutely ashamed by what I read. The fact that 1/2 you people are aloud to speak is truly offensive on so many levels. This "article" was about an over priced item. And all half you losers can do is bash a company that you have animosity against for no real reason... heck the ONLY reason anyone has listed that's even remotely mature of valid is bad customer service and if you're going to hold a grudge against an entire company over service you've received in a store or two, then that's just retarded and better off not even having you in a store. But whatever go ahead and mindlessly follow everyone that has something negative to say against GameStop that makes you cool right? Fact is it's a successful company, most store are full of good knowledgeable people who love gaming more then you people.
PS to the battletoads kid, go play drink everything under the sink.

Ps. I love game stop I've bought a new game, did not like it they took it back no questions ask. I have a card with gamestop and get a 10% more money with y tradins plus i get my money and games instantly unlike online.

This is why I only shop at Best Buy. The people there are much more knowledgeable too. At least when it comes to the 3 Gamestop/EB's around me.

Sorry Brian, but too much crying over spilled milk in my opinion. It's called supply and demand people. If enough casual consumers pay $25 for a WMP, Gamestop or any other retailer that would sell it at that price is completely entitled to keep selling it at that price. If they don't sell, and you see WMP stacking up in warehouses? Then you might see the price drop. But seriously, Gamestop is over-charging for a Wii peripheral? I looked at the sky today. It was blue. Must me a slow week for the G4TV news hounds.
gameweasel
EB was not perfect, but it only got worse once Gamestop took over. By the way if at a gamestop they ever push a bad game on you, and when you go back they offer to exchange it with a use copy of another game, they are not doing it out out of the kindness of their hearts, they want to increase the $ amount of used sales for the day, vs new sales, there is a percentage that has to be met or else.
gameweasel
do you want more evidence of the crimes of Gamestop against their customers and gaming in general? Well they get paid to push specific titles. Even when the games are of the worst caliber, they force employees to hype it up like the second coming. They also affect game sales negatively by pushing use copies of recent releases over a new copy, even when the customer makes it clear they want a new copy, employees are under threat of being fired if they don't insist.
Battlehobo4000
I love how people blame individuals that work for a company for something the corporation does. You can be mad about gamestop, but harassing it's employees, who have no control over stuff like this, puts you in the douchebag position. I don't agree with the company juicing customers, but I've worked retail, and being a jackass doesn't make it better.
gameweasel
Also another reason for the poor service in most gamestops, is that when they took over EB, they drove out all the good employees to be replaced by minimum wage people. They have a formula to determine how much you get pay per hour, but you need to freaking have a masters degree or something and about 5 years experience in retail sales for them to give you anything decent. I saw a manager use the formula and assign a new employee an hourly rate below minimum wage, until payroll called and made him fix it.
djboogymonster
Oh No! Gamestop is evil!!! We get it. Move on.

Man I hate GameStop. I hate that there's a major retailer that supports an industry I'm passionate about. I hate how instead of just having my old games sit around as paper weights I can actually get some value for them so I can afford other, newer games. I hate that their a business that makes no money on new games, so they have to make money on their garunteed to play used games that are priced cheaper than any other retailer. I hate how I can reserve a title that is sure to sell out, at no additional cost than the game. I hate that there is a central place I can go that has people who share my hobby.
Seriously, get off the Internet wagon, GameStop is a decent company I'm happy is around. Get off it.
MegaMark26
i'm gonna blunt it out plain.--- if it don't have that new chemical like smell. beware..lol i'm sure on top of the overpricing. i'm sure you'll find the motion plus used and priced for new.
