Cheats and Walkthroughs
E3 was all about Left 4 Dead 2 for Valve, even though the rest of the world is demanding the studio starts talking about Half-Life: Episode 3. It's about time for Valve to begin discussing the next (last?) adventure for Gordon Freeman, but mum's the word. Billy Berghammer cornered Valve co-founder Gabe Newell and marketing guru Doug Lombardi at E3, where he tried to extract some details on Episode 3.
"Uh, I’m not going to talk about things that we…we’re talking about Left 4 Dead 2 and Episode 3," said a laughing Newell, as a nervous Lombardi looked on. "As far as I know, that’s all that we’re talking about publicly."
"We’re not talking about Episode 3 publicly," smiled Lombardi.
"Oh well," sighed Newell. "I guess I’m not talking about Episode 3 publicly either. (laughs)"
Well, at least Valve is confirming Episode 3 is still in development. Sorry, that's not much to go on. When Billy tried to push Newell on a rough estimate on when we might even hear new information about Episode 3, he dodged the question.
"Just so you know, the thing to me, that feels right, is the rhythm that Robin [Walker, Valve developer/designer] and his team are operating with," said Newell. "It’s like watching the reaction of that community, watching their ability to respond, looking at the quality of the work they’re getting with the length of those development cycles. They’re having a great time. And I think it shows on the other side, right?"
Episode 3 is coming. Valve will talk about it…eventually. In the meantime, what are you expecting from it? Do you think Valve will actually wrap up the story they started?
