Criterion Games working on a Need For Speed game wasn't the only surprising bit of news that Electronic Arts chief operating office John Pleasants tucked into his presentation at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference I listened to today. Pleasants confirmed he's seen DICE's work on Battlefield 3.
"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product," he said. "Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good."
Gamers worried that Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield Heroes and Battlefield 1943 were a three-pronged answer to fans demanding a third Battlefield don't have to worry. Battlefield 3 is coming!

I hope they would give an option to choose between arcade and realistic game style mode. I enjoyed BF2 with project reality that made this game to what many of us enjoyed and played for years. I hope they will implement a nice medic system like *Arma* and make this game easy to mod for PR team to make it as realistic as possible. Looking forward to it.

With BF:BC2 going after COD...... I think we can consider COD's rain as number one over by the time BF:BC2 hits this year. It's over COD fans the true and first, as well as best MP, and now most epic single player game ever is back and ready to kick some more butt.........
EA has more inovative features, forward thinking, and better story tallent then IW. That much has been true sense the old days on the PC FPS front. COD has always felt more like a namless man who never says anything but gets the job done. EA has always surrounded you with well thought out charicters that you honestly care about in their games. IE even back in the MOHAA days the story was fare better in MOHAA, then it was in the first COD title.

I agree with comradkyle, on great game is way better than 3-4 ok ones. Take Team Fortress 2 for instance, even though is 5+ years old I still play it a suprising amount, it's acually kind of sad how long I can play that game witout getting bored (*cough 9 hours strait cough*) (plus this is on the PS3), just the map Dustbowl can keep me ocupied for 4 hours befor it gets repetative. Great games are great for a reason remember that Dice.

Awesome news. BF2 is the all time greatest fps for many reason. Totally immersive. I hope they just improve on that style and also find a way to keep hacks from ruining the game.

question: did Pleasants made his statement at the main or the breakout session? I listend to the main session twice and wasn't able to find it.

most likely bad company 2 will be the last of the series, 1943 is an arcade game that looks awesome. hopefully battlefield 3 will take after battlefield 2 modern combat

I so called this weeks ago... when they did BF1942 they went to battlefield 2, and then 2142... so when they made bf1943 i called it! they lined them selfs up for: BF3 and BF2143...

Ok BF bad company 2, 1943, heroes and BF3 thats 4 games not even out yet? are they spreading themselves too thin? I think so. I would rather play 1 good game a lot then play a bunch of ok games. I LOVE online for 2 and 2142 but bad company got really boring fast because they lacked all the communication and customizable and features from the original game, If this has everything that made 2142 and 2 great and then expanded on that i would be happy but right now I feel like they keep cutting apart the same game and releasing dumb down versions of it and this is really pissing me off because I love the game but I can't play all of them at the same time.
