In order to provide gamers with a "gaming experience closer to real life than anything we've seen," Sony has unveiled a motion-sensing control system for the PlayStation 3. The thing combines the PlayStation EyeToy camera with a controller and allows one-to-one tracking as well as allowing scanning of objects in a game. Seems to me like a cross between Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus and Microsoft's webcam motion controller.

Sony showed off a number of tech demos, including a sword-fighting game, tennis, a painting game, archery, a real-time strategy title and a first-person shooter. The system will be available in Spring 2010.

Wait, I thought the PS3 already had motion-sensing controllers...

    Hey guys how about we leave the 360 and ps3 bashing for when this stuff ACTUALLY COMES OUT! Seriously you guys are acting like this is the second coming of the slinky or something. Any Wii fanboy will tell you this concept isn't new. Am I right Wii fanboys?....oh wait, I forgot there that aren't any.

    Anyway it's probably useless that I post this because no matter what you have to throw feces at each other like apes because that's the only way you know how to communicate.... and yes I did just make that reference.

    @l33t. I'm not dissing kojima, but it a side story, playing as snake is the real mgs. And just last week you and your fellow xbots were saying mgs is just a movie with 20 minutes gameplay. And look at you now... Hmmmmmm

    @ps3fears360

    That's cool but the control is a concept.... And the one I liked the most was final fantasy XIV. I'm a big fan of it. And the psp mgs, and modmotion racing, the agent I thought they were gonna anounce kingdom hearts 3 but they didn't. And I also enjoyed that splinter cell conviction! I know it's on 360 but I want that game! I'll probably buy it and take it to a friends house

    Sony kicked a$$.Nintendo was lame and microsoft wasnt much better.

    @Raverenz51 Where you getting this gaming on demand what e3 did you watch?All I saw was the zune movie thing.

    Watching sonys conference after they finished the psp announcements everytime they finished another big ps3 announcement I thought damn thats the last one but it wasnt just kept going on and on I was totally blown away by Sonys e3 this year.

    I waited for alan wake to check that out looked pretty good not as good as i had hoped though.natal looks like a ps3 eye with software removing your image.Zune movies i could care less.I have rented one movie from the ps store if i want a movie i pick up the blu ray or dvd.Nintendo had metroid and Mario galaxy 2.

    You 360 people have to calm down. The PS3 motion sensor controller was just a CONCEPT not the final version so saying it looks funny is jumping to a conclusion that's not what its going to look like. I think the PS3 demo for the controller was better because they showed it live. the 360's was only a video so im a little skeptical to how accurate it will be. im afraid if someone behind me moved or if the lighting in the room wasnt right it would freak out and Endwar showed that voice control isn't always accurate and could end up being annoying if it dosent work right.

    @ VectorPrime; Not every single xbox 360 game will be made into a motion sensor game. They are making motion sensor exclusive games and some games are being turned into a motion sensor game. I doubt gears of war 2 will doubtfully be in motion sensor. Revolutionary? Yes it really is. 3D gaming was revolutionary when just 2D graphics existed. The wii started to take gaming in an entirely new direction and Project Natal is utilizing the theory of motion sensor to create and entirely new gaming era. YOU are the game. And, along with OnLive, gaming on demand is taking gaming to a new direction, revolutionary in the eyes anybody who actually opens their eyes to reality.

    Revolutionary? I think not. A joke? Nope. Interesting and innovative? Yes. Both Project Natal and Sony's motion sensor device were interesting. As a core gamer though, I don't see any use for either. MS and Sony are both just trying to cash in on the Wii's success with the casual market. You guys really want to play a game talking to Milo?? Lol! Or can you imagine yourself running in place in your living room, taking cover behind your ottoman, and having chainsaw duels with Locust hordes with an imaginary gun while playing Gears? C'mon now. Stop being such fanboys.

    Hey man whats up? Modmotion Racing was pretty interesting. Also I know how you feel. The games are exciting! PS3 had some interesting stuff (except that controller sorry it just looks funny) like Rock*'s Agent. I'm wondering what thats about. I like a lot of what MS did. Natal could be pretty cool. I'm also looking forward to Alan Wake, ODST looked really awesome. And I can't wait for Left 4 Dead 2 and Mass Effect 2. Splinter Cell Conviction looked insane, and I am happy Crackdown 2 is coming. And ahh yes the LBP wars! Good times lol. What are you looking forward too?

    @bizarro

    are you actually denying the quality of kojima productions?

    and to anyone else for that matter, remember maybe a week or two ago, you were all antsy to see what the new mgs raiden game would look like? you know, before you found out it was coming to the MOTHERF#CKING XBOX 360? :P

    @PS3FEARS360

    @ scottyrob82 AND Raverenz51

    you both are just hating because mgs5 is on ps3 only and all you are getting is 2 halos and a side story of mgs with raiden lol. while ps3 gets the side story of mgs and mgs5 ff14 online, 36 exclusives, and the controller is alright, no biggie, they did alot more than xbox did. which they did nothing.

    @ps3fears360

    damn dude where you been?
    and lol im not buying it, im here for the games

    I thought the PS3 controls did some cool things but in theory, with Natal, it should just be able to scan an object and you could use it to hold for the feel of a weapon instead of buying one or two of those remotes.. Shooting games is what I'm wondering about with Natal.

    Lol! The PS3 motion sensor was a joke! Project Natal was amazing. Its like Sony just rushed and scrambled to get this thing out.
    @ Infamous_Bizarro
    The tears you see from 360 owners are from laughter at the PS3 motion control! Sorry dude but that thing was ugly!

    Sony Ruled E3? Project Natal sent shockwaves amonst the entertainment industry. Sony's motion sensor is a joke. Project Natal is Revolutionary. If you believe that Sony ruled E3 than I want to know what E3 you were looking at. So they have a few good games coming out this year and a 'bad if not moderate' motion sensor. Project Natal and Gaming on Demand will revolutionize gaming, taking xbox 360 to next generation while ps3 has some cool games.

    Their motion sensor was the funniest thing I've seen. They can not compete with the Wii and the new Project Natal from Microsoft. They had an overall crappy press conference. Microsoft definitely stole the show with Nintendo right next to them. Believe me, I'm stoked for games like God of War III but that's it.
