Blizzard's Mike Morhaime revealed that StarCraft II is currently planned on being released at the end of 2009. The information came during Activision's pre-E3 conference call. "We're targeting an end of year release, this year, for StarCraft II," said Morhaime.
Wow. That's amazing news! Blizzard will surely stick to this release window... wait... what's that Mike? "But as always, we won't release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players," he continued. Oh, Blizzard. That's so like you guys. Giving with one hand and taking away with the other.
It's possible that the game will actually be released this year as the singleplayer component will only be the Terran campaign and the multiplayer beta should be kicking off sometime this summer.
Let's all hope that we'll be playing this highly-anticipated game this year.

Don't release it yet, I have too many other games to play, and once SCII is out, I doubt I'll have time for other games T.t

It's done when it's done. WTF, I guess if they don't release something that isn't WOW then I'll just play other game instead.

I don't like the product intro model Blizz has coming with SC2, so I won't be picking this up. For anyone else, have fun being nipple.

I'm a fan of SC, I'm just not a fan of the release model that's coming with SC2. So I won't be getting this on day one. I also don't do battle.net. I know I'll end up borrowing this from a friend until they release the super duper all three campaigns and expansions packs included version, their SC2 battle chests essentially.

There are few truths that are absolute in this world. One is that we all love Blizzard games. Two is that we all know that Blizzard never releases games on time. I don't even know why they bother with release dates more than a month out.
That said, I'm glad they take their time because generally the games are always well polished. However, seriously guys... just let us know a month in advance of when you're ready to ship.
