It's almost E3 time, folks, and the announcements and revelations are coming at us fast and furiously. The newest: Brink. Brink is an in-development game from Bethesda and Splash Damage, and will be out on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC by Spring 2010. Other than that, little about the title has been revealed.
Judging from the teaser trailer (above), the game has a dystopian sci-fi theme, and concerns a civilization that builds a structure called "The Arc" described as "peaceful, sustainable -- the pinnacle of engineering" and the "last hope for salvation of a dying planet." There is the sound of bullets and explosions, leading to the speculation that Brink will feature armed conflict of some kind (I know, I'm really out on a limb with this prediction.)
More important than the trailer, though, is the fact that the game is coming from Bethesda, and that company just won't make bad games. Based on Bethesda's RPG track record (Oblivion, Fallout 3) and Splash Damage's FPS games (Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars), I'm hoping for a world-shaking shooter/RPG set in a fully developed, finely crafted, morally ambiguous future society. See what I'm saying? I'm predicting an epic title here.
Don't you just love E3 season? Hopefully, the powers-that-be will be revealing a lot more about this intriguing game at E3, and if you position yourself in front of your television or internets machine, you'll be able to catch it all, right here on G4. Check out our E3 site for details.
