Street Fighter IV

In a disappointing revelation, Capcom has let the gaming world know that it does not intend to put out Street Fighter IV character DLC, so sorry if you've already mastered every single character the game offers. Capcom’s Seth Killian told Gaming Union that the company has...

"No plans for additional DLC right now. We want the core game to be a completely functional package, and character DLC could split the user-base."

On one hand, this makes perfect sense -- In a competitive multi-player game, everyone needs to have the same set of tools, so you can't really punish non-adopters or reward those who pony up money for downloadables. But on the other hand, some new characters would add a little variety to the game.

So, thanks, Capcom, for deciding to limit what could essentially be a nice chunk of change for your company in favor of keeping the balance of Street Fighter IV intact, but why not bring out some new characters as a mandatory, free download? That would work, right?

Back in February, Capcom said that incomplete 3D models for characters T. Hawk and Dee Jay exist, and that Capcom was considering adding them to Street Fighter IV, if there was enough demand. I guess there wasn't.

Eagle Street Fighter IAre there any past Street Fighter characters you'd like to see return to IV? Personally, I want to see the return of Eagle from the first Street Fighter and SNK vs. Capcom 2. There's something satisfying about beating opponents down using a character who is patterned after Freddy Mercury from Queen. Plus, Eagle wears a damn ascot! How pimp is that? Check him out, to the right.
