I’ll just get it out of the way upfront. I adore LittleBigPlanet. It brings a Sackboy-sized smile to my face whenever my eyes are exposed to it. And one of the primary reasons that the game never ceases to impress is the potentially endless possibilities it affords users to create their own game worlds. And guess who wants in on the creative action? Celebrities.
Over the official PlayStation blog, Burke recounts her experience working with Sony at this year’s winter X Games to create her own custom LBP level. The theme? “My trip to the X Games”, of course. The post features a brief trailer for the level, which shows Sackboy boarding a plane, landing in Aspen, picking up a rental car, hitting the deadly steep slopes and finally hanging ten on a killer wave in celebration of his supposed success at said X Games.
The level represents one of the first in a series of celebrity-inspired levels that will be released as part of a LittleBigPlaent Original program called, "the patch". Starting on Friday, players will be able to access "the patch", and play these original levels for free. Levels designed by artists Nathan Cabrera and Joe Vaux will also be available alongside Sarah Burke's ski-themed level starting Friday.
What person would you most like to see a LittleBigPlanet from? (FYI, my mom is a prolific and skilled LBP level designer, so nice try.)
