'Dragon Quest Wars': Square Enix's First Nintendo DSiWare Game: I take it by the Slime-sized grins on your faces that you’ve heard the news. No, not that the newest NPD hardware numbers show the Nintendo DS is simply an unstoppable force that will soon destroy you and everyone you love.

But rather, as Wired reports, Square Enix’s has announced that its first offering on the DSiWare (the device’s content downloading service) will in fact be Dragon Quest Wars, a board game-style take on the company's RPG franchise, developed by Intelligent Systems, the team behind Advanced Wars and Fire Emblem.

The game will support up to four player multiplayer (local or online), and will cost about $5 (500 DSi Points) when it’s released in Japan next month. No word on when/if Dragon Quest fans outside of Japan will be able to get their hands on the game, so stay tuned.
