The story surrounding Duke Nukem Forever's past, present and future is becoming more complicated. Following Take-Two Interactive's lawsuit over lost investments and rumors the publisher offered 3D Realms millions in exchange for franchise rights, former 3D Realms CEO Scott Miller has tackled some of the rumors head-on to Shacknews commenters.
One rumor purported that Take-Two had offered 3D Realms $30 million in developments funds to finish work on Duke Nukem Forever, in addition to the exclusive rights to the Duke Nukem franchise. Miller denies any such deal was offered, suggesting it "would have taken this offer without hesitation."
So far, 3D Realms has no publicly responded to Take-Two's lawsuit, though Miller promised it would be addressing the issue "soon."
Let's say Take-Two and 3D Realms aren't able to work out their differences and Take-Two becomes in charge of the Duke Nukem series. Who would you like to see make the next game?
