Earlier today, MIcrosoft squashed a bunch of E3 rumors that were floating around the Interwebets. Well, now it looks like we have some (supposedly) accurate Microsoft E3 news, but I'm sorry to say it's bad news for Games for Windows fans. Well, bad news if you were desperately looking forward to a big to-do at this year’s E3.
According to Big Download, Microsoft will not be using any of their precious E3 time to push Games For Windows or Games for Windows Live. However, there will apparently be a Windows 7 “reception” (whatever that might be) that should feature at least a couple upcoming PC titles, no doubt on display to show that Windows 7 plays games the way Microsoft promised Vista would.
Given the sheer amount of high profile Xbox 360 games slated to arrive this year, it’s not altogether surprising that Microsoft would decide to put all of its time, money and energy into promoting its console lineup, as opposed to tossing some stage-time scraps to its Games for Windows division, especially if it doesn’t have anything of major importance to show off on the PC gaming front.
Then again, Microsoft might just be planning something totally wacky, so remember to tune into G4TV’s coverage of E3 ’09 starting June 1 to see happens.
Any Games for Windows titles on your radars?
