Capcom, like many other third-party publishers, is publicly stepping up their Wii support in 2009. We've already seen movement in that direction with Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles and Monster Hunter 3, but while outlining goals for fiscal year 2009 to analysts and investors (via IGN), Capcom revealed plans to release nine games for Wii before April 2010 with an emphasis on "major game series" releases.
We should note, however, that Capcom specifically said "versions of major game series for the extremely popular Wii." It sounds unlikely that Capcom switch the development of numbered sequels (i.e. Resident Evil 6) to become Wii-focused, but instead producing Wii-specific games based on these established franchises.
It still blows my mind Capcom didn't release Street Fighter IV on Wii earlier this year, but something tells me we'll be seeing Street Fighter "something" on Nintendo's platform before too long. If not Street Fighter IV, though, then what? And what else do you want from Capcom on Wii?
