Eidos has officially announced the existence of Thief 4. While not exactly a surprise (check out our coverage of the hints leading up to the game), it is nice to have our suspicions confirmed for reals.
I'd love to be able to tell you a trillion details about the next edition of this series, but it's a little too early in the development game for much juicy info to be revealed: "We're in the early development stages for Thief 4," said Stephane D'Astous, Eidos' general manager at Eidos Montreal. "While it's too early for us to offer any specific game details, right now we are focused on recruiting the very best talent to join the core team at the studio."
So, in re-cap, here's what we know: Eidos wants to put together a great team to make Thief 4. Here's what we don't know: Platform, release date, genre, or, really, anything else. I'm going to go out on a tiny limb here and make the shocking prediction that the game will be a stealth game. I'll also predict a release on at least the 360 and possibly other platforms. I know, bold predictions, right?
