'God Eater' Name Trademark Sought by Namco

This story is pretty straightforward. The folks over at Superannuation discovered that Namco has filed to trademark the name God Eater for a potential, “computer game that may be accessed network-wide by network users via mobile phones and computers.”

Not altogether earth shattering or novel, I know. But the name alone makes the whole thing worthy of discussion. Plus, there's something compelling about a game that could be played across computers and mobile devices, assuming it's the same game and not simply a port of some kind.

On that note, what would your dream God Eater game look like? Mine would probably follow the "God Eater" from .hack//G.U. Vol. 2 as he struggles to cope in a world that lacks the strict structure he had come to rely on so heavily. After working for a while as a bagboy at a local grocery store, he soon realizes that freedom is too overwhelming and sadly decides to take his own life...Yeah. I totally watched Shawshank Redemption the other day.
