Man, today has officially become "BioWare news" day. First it’s revealed that Dragon Age: Origins won’t require SecurROM authentication. Then, it comes out that a Dragon Age: Origins pen-and-paper game is coming out this summer. And now, we have confirmed reports that BioWare is in fact working on a Mass Effect game for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
On Mass Effect’s official forums, BioWare said it had hoped to reveal info about the game on its own terms, but one of its play testers broke the non-disclosure agreement and spilled the space beans. Details are few at this point, but we do know that the game will tell the story of one of the characters from Mass Effect 2, but won’t serve to connect Mass Effect with its sequel. Also, the iPhone/iPod Touch game is not being developed by the same team in charge of DLC and patches for ME, so that second round of DLC we’ve been hearing about should remain relatively on track.
Using mobile devices as a platform to fill out a game's universe: brilliant or unnecessary?
