A few days ago, Cablevision unveiled its 100Mbps broadband for its Long Island, NY customers. The company has been fairly aggressive in this territory, as it's facing off with Verizon's ridiculously fast FiOS service. Unconvinced that Cablevision's service is all it's cracked up to be, Verizon's Eric Rabe wrote the following on his blog:
Rabe was taking a shot at the unproven DOCSIS 3.0 technology that Cablevision deployed to reach 100Mbps. Verizon's fiber-to-the-home tech has been in service for years and customers have been raving about the speeds it offers. It's nice to see Internet service providers talking smack about each other. I haven't had this much fun watching tech geeks go at it since Dyson and Mitsubishi were talking crap about who had the superior hand dryer. Hopefully the Cablevision/Verizon war escalates to gang violence. Rabe better watch out -- he just might be the victim of a Cablevision drive-by.
