Earlier today, I brought you the news that the MotionPlus add-on for the Wii was coming on June 8th and Wii Sports Resort was coming on July 26th. Does that mean MotionPlus buyers will be staring longingly at their peripheral for three weeks, waiting for Resort to drop? Nope.
The first game that supports Wii MotionPlus technology will be Virtua Tennis 2009, and it's coming out in May, and so for a brief time between the release of MotionPlus on June 8th and the release of EA's Grand Slam Tennis on June 15, Virtua Tennis 2009 will be the only product on the market that supports the new technology.
Tennis games seem like the perfect test for the new tech. If it's truly sensitive enough to add top-spin and English to tennis shots, it will be incredible. But if it doesn't work, and you're basically flopping your arm around like you're playing Wii Sports, the whole MotionPlus thing will start to look a lot less attractive.
