GameStop today revealed the price and contents of the limited edition bundle that will go with the release of The Beatles: Rock Band on September 9th. The bundle will cost $250, and here's how GameStop described its content in an email to customers:
"We've just learned that the Limited Edition Premium Bundle will include The Beatles: Rock Band software; a Höfner Bass controller; The Beatles-inspired and Ludwig-branded Rock Band drums with classic pearl finish, a metal kick pedal and a vintage replica drumhead; plus a microphone with stand, as well as additional special content."
Strangely, there's a brand name for the bass, but no mention of what the guitar will be. The Beatles were known for rocking Rickenbackers, so it's surprising that no Rick-branded fake plastic axe is mentioned. The microphone stand is a surprise, but a welcome one. If you've ever tried to sing and play guitar in Rock Band, you'll know what I mean: No more trying to balance the mic on the bookcase to belt out a tune. I assume that the "vintage replica drumhead" mentioned is a version of the Beatles drums Ringo's banging on in the photo above.
That leaves the "additional special content." Kotaku wants mop-top wigs. I'd rather have some Sergeant Pepper Jackets and little round sunglasses or an inflatable Yoko Ono. Either way, the bundle is full of gear gear, mate. Once a picture is released, we'll share it with you, promise.
I'm going to get the above pack, in spite of the fact that my home is rapidly being overtaken with all variety of plastic instruments. But maybe you aren't as big a Beatles fan as I am. What do you think?
