The Resident Evil 5 "Versus" mode DLC will be released tomorrow. Capcom claims the DLC will "be available to download on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, 2009," but Sony only publishes content to PSN on Thursdays. I've contacted Capcom for clarification.
Whenever it shows up, the mode will run you 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99.
"Versus allows up to four players to match wits in online battles across two very different game types. Slayer’s Rule is a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis. In Survivor’s Rule, players hunt the most dangerous game, each other! Players can begin the hunt as Chris, Sheva or other secret characters, and choose from either one-on-one or two-versus-two team matches for either of the two gameplay styles."
I'm still a little wary about paying for Resident Evil multiplayer, which is uncharted territory for the series. Hopefully, it will be more than just running around (then stopping) and shooting each other. The game has a lot of weapons to choose from and I'd like to see them used in multiplayer some way.
Are you going to purchase this right away or wait to hear how it is? Or are you going to skip it entirely?
