Have you ever collected anything? I mean REALLY collected something to the point where you spend countless hours looking for the final pieces that will make your collection complete? Did you find all the pigeons in GTA IV? Or all the gargoyles in Fable II? Then this Soapbox is for you.

With some spare time on his hands, Adam has been playing lots of games. And in his travels, he's noticed how obscure and well hidden some games collectibles are. I mean seriously, who puts a bobble-head in there? Take some time to listen to what the man has to say and then reference your strategy guide. It'll make things way easier on you, trust me.

I have to agree on the collecting of various treasures in games but there is one time I remember distictly not to long ago on the PS2. If you remember Sly 2: Band of Thieves where you had to collect those bottles with combination codes on them to access a vault somewhere in the game to gain some extra ability or power. Then you remember that Sucker Punch also put it in the first SLy game but the one thing that I loved that they did with it in SLy 2 is that they game the bottle a little sound effect like it rocking back and forth so you can know its there and find it easier to collect. I mean sadly I went as far as to turn all the other parts of the sound so I can just here the bottle noises but I found it fantasic that they put that in.............sorry just had to share. Collecting in games can be fun or addicting especially if you have an OCD for it but it is some crazy fun element to put into a game even if it is rather linear and not as massive of a sandbox game as Fallout 3.

I have the same (what my friends call) addiction, once I see collectables or achievements for collecting them I basically wave goodbye to my friends and family and hope to god I can find said collectables. But I must say even for myself being a achievement whore, it is a hassle to find them all and once you do it's like a kick in the nads. I mean you collect all of the artifacts, collectables, ect., and spend an ungoddly amount of time on the game; and it's then you relize "oh crap that's right THESE AREN'T REAL." I'm trying to get over my "addiction" and I one day shall...right after I get all of the bobble-heads, and all of the gargoyles, and all of the jedi holocrons,...

Adam I definately agree. I always try to get all collectables in games. I like getting all achievements more than collecting them all. Collections can sometimes be brutal
