Razer has announced that it will be co-developing a game with Valve Corporation. The game, HellRazer: Triple Helix, will use a dedicated controller called the Anaconda. The Anaconda will feature motion-sensing and gesture-recognition capabilities. According to the company's press release:
HellRazer will be released in fall 2010. Additional information on the game can be found on its official site. I expect more details on the game and the controller to be unveiled at E3 2009.
I'm a little torn on the game. On one hand, I generally don't like games with dedicated controllers. I'm sure this isn't going to be a Steel Battalion situation and the Anaconda can be used for other PC games, but I'm concerned about HellRazer being an inferior experience if played with a "regular" mouse. On the other hand, it's Valve. The company's phenomenal track record makes me expect the best.
How about you? Are you down with the Valve & Razer dynamic duo? Would you plunk down money on an Anaconda specifically for HellRazer?
Update: April Fool's Day!!!
