Rock Band, the mammoth rhythm/music gaming franchise from Harmonix/MTV Games/EA, has topped the billion dollar mark in sales, according to the people who make the game. This number includes the hardware, software, and downloadable content that you can purchase for Rock Band, and comes at the 15 month mark in the game's life cycle.
With over 600 songs available online, and more coming every week, not to mention the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band release, there looks to be no stopping this musical gaming juggernaut any time soon. One of the staples of my personal collection, Rock Band is a game with nearly infinite replay value, has proven to be a crossover hit among many demographic genres, and has become a party game almost without compare.
