'Metal Gear' Star David Hayter Founds Film and Game Studio

David HayterDavid Hayter, co-writer of Watchmen and writer of X-Men  and X-Men 2, as well as the voice of Solid Snake from the Metal Gear games, is teaming up with Benedict Carver (producer of the upcoming film based on Namco video game Tekken) to form Dark Hero Studios. It will be a firm that will make TV, movies, Internet content and video games in the action, sci-fi and horror genres.

The company also plans to work on graphic novels, comic books, and original film treatments. Dark Hero's first project is Demonology, a flick Hayter wrote and plans to direct.

"David will create, write and direct movies and TV series for the company, but he'll also be a magnet for other writers and directors to work with us," said Carver.

Hayter says Demonology was inspired by his experiences at an international high school in Japan.

"It's about an American kid who goes to one of these schools in Belgium, but it brings my own horrible experiences of school to life," Hayter said.

Right now, Hayter and Carver are working on Slaughter's Road, a werewolf movie written and directed by Hayter. Carver's current company, Crystal Sky, is behind the project.

I wonder if Demonology really tells the story of how David Hayter sold his soul to the Devil to have the most off-the-chain existence of anyone on the entire planet! Does David Hayter have the life or what?
