According to an interview with Best Life magazine, Jay-Z, the best rapper alive, has met with at least one video game company to discuss an upcoming video game.
Here's how the magazine describes a typical day for Hova: "He is relaxing after a typically jam-packed day that included a photo shoot, an interview, and a meeting about his potential involvement in a forthcoming video game."
Okay, there aren't any further details, so a Jay-Z game is only a hypothetical. But it's enough to get me interested. I could see a Jay-Z game involving a combination of a music game and a business sim: You must do killer shows to get money to grow the Jay-Z/Rocafella empire. So you build your business by making shrewd financial moves and hit records.
(I've written your game for you, Jay-Z, please give me a lot of money now.)
Seriously, though, if a Jay-Z game were to happen and it was as good as the awesome, guilty-gaming-pleasure 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, I'll wait in line for it! Then I will holla' at my boy.
How do you feel about rappers getting involved in the game industry?
