Microsoft has settled with PalTalk, which was suing MS for patent-infringement on some of the multiplayer technologies used in the Halo series. The patents were developed by MPath Interactive Inc. and purchased by PalTalk.

The trial for the suit which sought $90 million in damages is over now and a Microsoft spokesperson reports that the settlement was an "amicable agreement." The financial details of the settlement were not disclosed, but it's safe to assume it is less than $90 million.

I've really got to get into the patent business and start taking meetings with companies. Even if they use a different technology (allegedly), I can probably still sue them.
