Finally, some good old fashioned, funk music is coming to Rock Band and Rock Band 2! Next week's DLC will feature three funky-ass tracks to help you get up and perhaps get down, as well. Representing: James Brown, The Average White Band, and Earth, Wind and Fire.
Not only that, but five decidedly un-funkified rock/thrash songs are coming at ya. Both Papa Roach and The New Pornographers are dropping a couple songs and Against Me! is showing up with a track, too. It's a good week for DLC, I think you will agree.
Here's the full line up:
- Average White Band “Pick Up the Pieces”
- Earth Wind & Fire “Shining Star”
- James Brown “Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine - Pt 1”
Rock and/or Roll tracks:
- Against Me! “Thrash Unreal”
- The New Pornographers “All the Things That Go to Make Heaven and Earth”
- The New Pornographers “Use It”
- Papa Roach “Last Resort”
- Papa Roach “Lifeline”
The tracks will cost the standard $1.99 each and $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for the “Get the Funk Out 01” pack. If you have a 360, you'll be able to download this stuff on Tuesday; Thursday for the PS3.
As longtime readers of TheFeed know, I am the driving force behind the song selection in Rock Band 2. Here is photographic proof of my amazing influence over the music game industry. The inclusion of Funk is further proof. Look: In October, I called for a Funk Pack, and next week I'm getting it. My newest prediction: "The Rock Band Flugelhorn Pack." Look for it sometime in June.
