Nintendo has announced that is has shipped its 100-millionth DS. This figure counts worldwide shipments of the original DS, the DS Lite, and the DSi. Considering that the handheld was first available in late 2004, the number is extremely impressive. Nintendo of America president ReggieFils-Aime thinks so, too. In today's celebratory press release, he said:
Economic downturn aside, Nintendo sales are still burgeoning. It will be interesting to see how well the DSi sells globally. It's already a hit in Japan; other territories will be getting the system shortly.
Speaking of which, you guys and dolls appear to have lukewarm feelings about the DSi, at best. Has anything changed your mind about the system? Will you be waiting to see what games will take advantage of its new features? Or will you anxiously snap one up in April when it's released in North America?
