ESPN's Jon Robinson has a fantastic interview with Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Among the topics discussed are steroids, his upcoming book, his late brother Owen, Hulk Hogan's unwillingness to pass the torch, and his rivalry with "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Since Bret was one of the biggest wrestling stars in the '90s and one of the most prominent grapplers in THQ's upcoming Legends of WrestleMania game, Robinson asked him about his thoughts on gaming.
It's nice to see that Bret can finally admit he's a jobber after all these years. Just kidding....
Although I completely acknowledge his greatness in the ring, I was never a big Hart fan. I understand that his brother died in a tragic wrestling stunt and he was screwed out of the WWE, but it's difficult to like him when he exudes a palpable bitterness that comes across in print. (Plus, I'm a big HBK mark.) All that aside, this was one of the best wrestling interviews I've ever read from a mainstream outlet. And I'm not just saying that because Robinson and I were once in a band called the P-Wang All-Stars. It's a must-read interview for wrestling fans and Bret Hart fans.
While I'm not really into him, I'm pleased that Hart is in Legends of WrestleMania. He absolutely deserves a spot on the roster. It would feel a bit empty without Hart. What do you guys and gals think about the game? Are you excited to hit the squared circle as Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Michael "P.S." Hayes, and others? Which classic wrestler's character role are you itching to assume?
