Hey, pin-monkeys: Some new characters are available for PlayStation 3 bowling game High Velocity Bowling. That lady above is Carmen ‘Sordida’ Sanchez. She's from San Ysidro, California, and has a chip on her shoulder. According to Sony's blog, "Carmen has much to prove. She’ll do anything to win even if it requires dirty tactics. Carmen refuses to wear bowling shoes and as a result, her form leaves a lot to be desired." I know how she feels; those bowling shoes be stinkin'.
The second new dude to bowl with is Bruce ‘Flyboy’ Fitzpatrick, a flamboyant flight attendant from New York, New York who "happens to be fantastic in the lane." According to Sony's blog, Bruce has "fabulous ball control, but he cares more about his precious manicure than pin action … so it’s nothing but light balls for him." I'm not sure if they're casting aspersions on their own avatar here or what, but if someone accused me of being flamboyant and having fabulous ball control, I'd punch him in the throat. Anyway, both of these dudes are available beginning today for just $0.99 each.
There's more though. In a few weeks, look for a new add-on: Jill’s Trick-Shot Pack will be available on March 19th.
I haven't played this game, so I'm talking out of my butt here, but in the past, I've found that colorful, "outrageous" characters in sports games often mean the "sports" part isn't that great...except SSX Tricky. Download the game for $9.99 and see for yourself, though.
