Don Traeger, founder of Electronic Arts' EA Sports line and now-shuttered development house Locomotive Games, is making iPhone games. Not only that, Traeger feels the platform is the direction in which games are traveling in. As evidence, Traeger points out that "traditional" game developers are laying off employees and shutting their door, where iPhone game companies are sprouting like weeds:
“The economy is just a convenient excuse for this disruption,” Traeger said. “The business has changed drastically toward platforms like the iPhone.”
Traeger founded Portable Zoo in January, and in less than four weeks, they launched their first iPhone game, a word game called Letter Bug.
