Ray Charles Savannah Georgia On My Mind

The Creative Coast Alliance has started a program aimed at bringing game developers to Savannah, Georgia. Should developers set up shop in Savannah, they'd be eligible for a 30 percent tax credit and up to a year of free rent at the newly constructed Game Development and Digital Media Center. According to the organization's press release:

"The Creative Coast Alliance (TCCa) and the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) are pleased to announce up to one year of free rent in their Game Development and Digital Media Center currently under development on the first floor of their newly constructed Class A office building on the Savannah River. This facility will offer digital media companies a competitive advantage and it comes conveniently combined with Savannah’s renowned quality of life, lower cost of living and lower cost of doing business as compared to other media hubs such as the Bay Area, Austin, Montreal and Los Angeles."

Considering the economic climate, it might make sense for new developers to take up the TCCa on its offer. Depending on the situation, developers in expensive cities should consider relocating to Savannah. Even if people aren't into the area, managers can just pump "Georgia On My Mind" 24/7. The soothing sounds of Ray Charles are sure to boost morale.
