Analyst: 1/3 of 'God of War 3' Buyers Don't Have a PS3

God of War 3

According to analysts at OTX's, one third of those who plan to purchase God Of War III don't own a PlayStation 3. If their numbers are right, means the launch of the game will almost certainly result in a significant spike in PS3 sales.

The launch of God of War III in late 2009/early 2010 will mark a pivotal moment for Sony. But in order to ensure that this game is a hardware sales driver, the cost of the base-level PS3 will need to be in the same ballpark as the Xbox 360 and Wii.

So look for the combination of a price-cut and a truly killer system selling game for the PlayStation 3, and then finally the product might get the sales it clearly deserves (and needs!)

What do you think? Is the return of Kratos enough to start PlayStation 3 units flying through the doors at Best Buy? Or is it too little too late?
