What does the end of the world look like? Hopefully, we won't be able to answer that question about the real world, but we have definite video evidence of what the end of NCSoft's Sci-fi MMO Tabula Rasa's world looked like.

Rather than just pull the plug on the ailing MMO, NCSoft created an in-game event in which the last battered human soldiers met for an Alamo-like last stand against The Bane. Here's how it was described on TR's website:

"We request that all military personnel begin fortifying defenses at every AFS base in preparation for a massive Bane assault. If enemy troop movements are as large as we fear, and the Neph are truly prepared to lead all out war against us, this may be our last stand. We can not afford to be complacent or uncertain, but if it is truly our destiny to be destroyed, we are taking them all with us."

On Saturday, the battle was joined and everyone defeated. The plug was pulled, every character was sent into the ether, the universe of Lord British's Tabula Rasa disappeared forever and now exists only as memories. R.I.P Tabula Rasa: 10/30/2007 - 2/28/2009.
