'Aliens' RPG Canceled?

'Aliens' RPG

It's impossible to keep a secret on the Internets. For example, an ex-employee of developer Obsidian's resume on professional networking site linkedin.com reveals that SEGA's planned role-playing game version of Aliens has been canceled.

"Designer for canceled third-person action Aliens RPG (Xbox 360, PS3, & PC)" reads David Kondor's LinkedIn profile page.

Has the game been dropped or not? We don't know. On the one hand, even before this profile surfaced, there were persistent rumors and speculation that the game had been axed and Obsidian employees laid off. On the other hand, the game is still listed on Obsidian's site. A quick glance through the site's forums reveals a post from the company's Marketing & PR Producer, that reads:

"I hope you guys understand that we really can't say anything. You guys are our community and I think you deserve some kind of comment, but unfortunately that comment is 'no comment.'"

So that's where things stand until we get definite word on the fate of this conceptually awesome RPG.
