PC gamers who are still playing Gears of War were understandably upset a couple weeks ago when a glitch in the game's DRM completely locked some players out of it. Today, there's a patch. "This update fixes an expired digital signatures issue that prevents all earlier versions of the game from launching," reads the game's official site.
While the update fixed this particular problem, the larger issue it raises is ths: How do you keep legitimate customers from constantly suffering DRM headaches and still manage to prevent software piracy? This issue is unresolved and it will take much more than a software patch to correct this one.
Pick up the patch here... oh, and happy shooting.
