In an effort to make its shows more family friendly, the WWE has been eliminating some of the more risque elements of its programming. For example, bra-and-panties matches are being removed the various WWE shows. The shift to PG- rated has also caused some wrestlers to change the names of their signature moves. John Cena, one of the biggest stars in the company, has a finisher called the "FU" ...or at least it used to be called that. The move has been renamed the "Attitude Adjustment". In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Cena claimed that it was his decision and explained why he did it:
I never really liked the "FU" -- always thought it was a weak finisher (though not as ridiculous as The Rock's "People's Elbow". Whether it's the "FU" or the "Attitude Adjustment," the move just sucks. The real travesty is that bra-and-panties matches have been eliminated. Kelly Kelly is totally hot.
Any thoughts on the WWE's PG initiative? Do you like the family-friendly version of the WWE better? Or do you long for the "attitude era"?
