Is The PC Version of 'Gears of War' Locking People Out?

You know why people hate Digital Rights Management? Here's why: Users on the Gears of War official forums are reporting that as of January 28, the digital certificates for the PC version of the game have expired. They can't play the game even though they bought it, unless they reset their system clock for an earlier date.

Here's the irony from ripten.com: "The people who pirated the game, who the DRM is supposedly trying to stop, won’t be affected by this."

We can only assume if these Internet posters are reporting a real problem that a fix is coming soon from Epic.
