'Guitar Hero World Tour' February DLC Announced

Posted January 27, 2009 - By Stephen Johnson

Hey, rockers, get ready to rock. You have until February. That should be ample time to prepare for rocking out with three mega track-packs for Guitar Hero World Tour. The song bundles include music from Bob Seger, Incubus, Paul McCartney, The Shins and Ryan Adams. There's something for every taste -- even the Wii is getting some download love.

Here's the full rundown:

February 12th: The Acoustic Track Pack

  • Incubus: "Drive
  • The Shins: "New Slang
  • Ryan Adams: "Wonderwall"

February 19th: Paul McCartney's Wings Pack

  • "Junior's Farm"
  • "Hi Hi Hi"
  • "Jet"

February 26th: Bob Seger Track Pack:

  • "Old Time Rock and Roll"
  • "Her Strut"
  • "Get Out of Denver" (live version)

The Packs will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 440 Microsoft Points and on PlayStation Store for $5.49. The songs in each Track Pack will be released as downloadable singles for Xbox 360 for 160 Microsoft Points, PLAYSTATION 3 system for $1.99 and Wii for 200 Wii Points.

What do you think of this selection? It seems pretty weighted toward nostalgia to me. Sure, I love "Jet," but are younger folks out there, like you guys, even slightly interested in Paul McCartney's Wings? Everybody loves "Old Time Rock and Roll," but "Get out of Denver"? Really?
