"SURGE™ today released new gameplay footage for Afro Samurai®, their upcoming hip-hop infused action-adventure game for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.  Based on the hit animation series, the new footage captures the game's stunning unique visuals and brutal gameplay that players can expect when Afro Samurai is released on January 27, 2009.
Delivering a new kind of cinematic experience, Afro Samurai utilizes a dynamic cross-hatching art style and cut-scene paneling that makes the game look like a comic come to life. Its innovative combat system gives players the ability to devastate foes with fierce slices of the blade and dynamically cut enemies at any point on the body. Staying true to the anime series, the game is set to an original hip hop musical score with a new track by The RZA of Wu Tang Clan fame."
