'Batman 3' Set For 2011 Says Producer

Posted January 26, 2009 - By Joseph Baxter

Producer Michael Uslan has commented in a recent interview with a New Jersey paper, that the upcoming third installment of the current Batman franchise is estimated for a 2011 release. This would be consistent with the three-year window that existed between Batman Begins (2005) to The Dark Knight (2008).

When asked about the identity of the villain(s) of the upcoming film, Uslan replied "It's one of those deals where if I told you, I'd have to kill you." (At which point, he told the reporter, and then Uslan did indeed kill him. RIP: Courier Post Reporter.)

For those skeptical, Michael Uslan is a big Hollywood producer. He also has been on board as a producer for every Batman film (both live-action and animated) since Tim Burton's 1989 revival of the franchise. He is also a noted expert on comic books and taught the first ever accredited college class on comic books at Indiana University. Needless to say, he has enough credibility for us to take him at his word.

2011, it is.
