Spanish Nintendo magazine Nintendo Acción has dropped some pretty blatant hints that point to a Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics game. Check it out:

Here's the Babel Fish translation of the above text:
"Exclusive right! It returns the challenge from the century! Who are these two and Po what return to see the faces? It discovers all the details on this mystery in the next number of the magazine. But before, it takes note from these tracks: games, Olympic, is cold, is winter…"
Hmmm... not proof, but intriguing. Given how much dough Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games earned and how much everyone loves money, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be true. Obviously, consoles have not have been announced, but if they exist, I assume Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics will be for the Wii and DS.
Personally, I liked the first Mario and Sonic game. I played it with my mom and my seven-year-old nephew. We had a very nice afternoon, so I'd like to see a sequel on store shelves. Although I think Sonic's speed gives him a huge advantage in most winter events, particularly the luge and downhill skiing.
