In a recent interview with Square Enix president Yoichi Wada, Reuters has confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII will not be hitting territories outside of Japan until April 2010, at the earliest. The game will be released in Japan during the second half of 2009.
A bunch of people were surprised by this snippet of information, but to me, it was a revelation on par with the announcement that the sun will come out tomorrow (bet your bottom dollar). Final Fantasy games are huge undertakings, and unfortunately, delays are part of the deal. Localization for a big project like FFXIII takes a long, long time. Anyone that expected a non-Japanese version in 2009 should get their head checked.
