YouTube is apparently taking copyrighted music more seriously. Normally, it would take a cease and desist or I'm guessing, a strongly worded email threatening legal action for Tube to remove a video. They've been very obedient. Now it has extended this weird public shaming practice where the audio is removed and a note is placed below the video stating why there is no audio.
If they're planning to remove any video that doesn't have full copyright over all the content contained in the video, YouTube is going to soon find itself with about 10 videos. Although, I've been listening to Barry Manilow videos all morning and there hasn't been a problem. Or perhaps they just haven't made it to "B" yet.
Update: Just tried to watch a Manilow video and it has been pulled completely. This is a sad, sad day in Internet history. Our grandkids will remember this day as the one that signaled the end of something that used to be cool.
