Sony's aging, last-generation powerhouse, the PlayStation 2, has officially sold over 50-million units in North America. The system was released back in 2000 -- a simpler time before anyone knew what "Next Gen" meant -- before Microsoft even had a gaming system.
The console has lasting appeal, that's for sure. Maybe it's the vast library of games available, or its bargain price tag. You can pick up a PS2 for only $129. Whatever the reason, the PS2 is one long-lasting console. It's the only system of its generation that is still selling units -- having outlived both the original Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube. In fact, 206,000 PS2s were sold in the US in November, alone!
Most of you probably own or have owned a PS2, so let's talk about the best game of all time for the system. My vote goes to Grand Theft Auto III, if only for how completely, mind-blowingly original it was when it came out in 2001. How about you?
