Wizardworld Canceled in California and Texas

Posted January 12, 2009 - By Stephen Johnson

Wizardworld, Wizard Entertainment's traveling comic book convention, has sadly been postponed in California and canceled in Texas. According to Wizard, this is "due to the current economic climate." Curse you, Current Economic Climate! When will the Fantastic Four arrive to trap you in an outer-space, nuclear prison?

The L.A. con was scheduled for March 13-15, and announced guests include Stan Lee, Grant Morrison and Brian Bendis, all who will have to find something else to do that day. The Texas show was going to be held on November 6-8th. No new dates have been announced for the L.A. Show.

Wizard says their scheduled Philadelphia and Chicago shows are going on as planned. Philly happens in June, and Chicago goes down in August.

This news had likely made the nerdier members of our reading audience cry. If so, please re-read Iron Man issue #123: ("Casino Fatale!") to bring you strength to carry on with your day.
